1.25/1 Mattgarn wool

1.25/1 Mattgarn from Borgs is a heavy single-ply wool yarn for weft-faced rugs. "Matt" means "rug" in Swedish, and so this is literally "rug yarn." A heavy 1.25/1 single ply wool, it is often doubled, tripled or even quadrupled to weave the breathtakingly beautiful weft-faced wool rugs for which Swedes are so well-known. Lighter-weight wall hangings can certainly be woven with a single strand, as can krokbragd or rosepath rugs.
