Umbrella swift, range of sizes

An umbrella swift is a fantastic tool on which to put your skein of yarn (instead of somebody holding it for you in the old-fashioned companionable way). From here you can wind balls with a ball winder, or wind quills for your shuttles.

Our umbrella swifts are made from birch and come in two sizes. The regular size holds skeins up to 72" around, and accommodates nicely all of the skeins we sell. The larger swift holds skeins up to 100" around, and would be required for longer skeins.

These have been made in Sweden by GAV Glimåkra for 82 years or more.
